Sober, Still Becoming
Healing isn’t linear. But at least there’s coffee.
Honest reflections on sobriety, healing, and growth — still figuring it out, still becoming.
Welcome
Sober, Still Becoming is a heartfelt space for anyone navigating the messy, beautiful journey of recovery.
This blog is filled with honest reflections, soft humor, faith, and the beautifully imperfect truth of sober living. I believe recovery isn’t one-size-fits-all — it’s a winding path of grace, rediscovery, resilience, and learning to find peace in the small things (like when your houseplants thrive… or at least don’t die).
Whether you’re taking your first steps into sobriety, just curious about it, or wondering if anyone else burns toast during a so-called spiritual awakening — you’re in the right place.
This space is for honest talk about sobriety, healing, God’s grace, and all the weird, wonderful parts of still becoming.
Still Becoming?
Still Becoming is about progress, not perfection. It’s the messy, beautiful process of growing into who you’re meant to be.

I did regularly in the beginning, and they were so important for building structure and connection. These days, my faith, prayer, nature, and community also keep me grounded. There’s space for what works — therapy, meetings, journaling, worship, or quiet reflection with God.

First, I pause. I breathe. Sometimes I text a friend or step outside and let nature remind me I’m not alone. I think back to my last day drinking — how heavy and hopeless I felt — and I remember I don’t have to live that way again. My faith gives me the strength to keep going.

It means recovery isn’t linear, and it’s not about perfection. Life is more peaceful now, but I’m always growing — learning, changing, and becoming who God made me to be. Sobriety isn’t the end of the story; it’s the beginning of a life where I get to keep becoming.
